Although Eric says that the baby snake we captured in the basement is quite possibly the only one that lived there, I know that babies have mamas. and often, siblings. No more barefoot laundry duty. boots time.
I spotted this praying mantis on the handle of a hanging flower basket on our front porch last night during dinner. (that's a lot of prepositional phrases!)

Oooh! I want to catch a snake while I'm there. Is it non-poisonous? Do you know?
I come to see you THIS WEEK!!!
Yikes! Baby snakes...not a good sign. You're right Heidi..there's probably more of them. I like your pic of the praying Mantis. It's a true North American praying Mantis. We have one of the asian varieties..it's bigger and more aggressive...they can hurt! (I'm speaking from experience!)
Joel (Schabilion?) in Mozambique some of our boys would make a string leash for praying mantis and super huge grasshopers.
Hannah, WOO HOO. Any chance you have time/inclination for a Trader Joe's run?
That is sooo funny about the leashes LOL. Jodie and I were laughing at the prospect of having Maggie "go walk the Mantis."
P.S. Sorry...I didn't answer your Q! Yes, Schabilion! You guys look great! We love your blog...keep up the good work! :)
