How do you pronounce it?

We intend Eliyah's name to sound like Elliot, changing only the final sound.  Please respond: should we consider spelling her name with two L's?

Eliyah or Elliyah?

We actually that it was pronounced e lie yah, like Eli Manning but if you like it spelled that way just inform people to correct way to pronounce, I like both ways, I even liked it when I thought it was prounounced the other way, Give all kids hugs & kisses, Taylor was blowing kisses to the screen as we speak!

I was pronouncing it right in my head. I think the one L references her ethnicity a bit more so I would keep that. I don't know what it would sound like in Portuguese but it would be really confusing in Spanish with the two Ls. My two-cents. =)

hey Heidi! Angela told me about your news! how wonderful! I'm so happy for you guys! As far as spelling goes, my brain was thinking like Gerogann's. And I do think that two Ls would help that, because "ellie" is a little more common. But...Hanna has a point too, with the ethnicity. Chances are, no matter how you spell it, you'll constantly be pronouncing it for everyone anyway. We have that Brielle, and I thought that seemed easy. So spell it how you like it! :) We're praising God for this new blessing!

I vote for one L. I just think the appearance of the name looks lovelier w/ one L. I am not sure why but I just does.
