Pre-Communion
Almighty God,
you make us glad with the yearly remembrance of your son, King Jesus:
grant that, as we joyfully receive him as the one who rescues us from the tyranny of sin,
so we may with sure confidence behold him
when he shall come to be the just judge of all;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the holy Spirit,
one god, now and forever.
Communion
Post-Communion
Eternal God, for who we wait,
you have fed us with the bread of the life of the Age to Come:
keep us ever watchful,
that we may be ready to stand before the "Son of Man,"*
King Jesus, our lord.
